About SwingBlog

The guide we wish
we’d had.

SwingBlog is what we needed five years ago, and couldn’t find anywhere.

Our Story

How we got here.

It started, like most of these stories, with a conversation that took years to actually have.

We’d been together long enough to know each other completely. The good, the boring, the unspoken. Long enough that the fantasies in our heads started to feel like things we wanted to talk about out loud, instead of just things we thought about alone. Long enough that we’d built the kind of trust where a hard conversation wouldn’t break us.

It still took us about a year to actually have it.

When we finally did, we discovered something neither of us expected. We both wanted to explore the lifestyle. Quietly. Carefully. Together.

And then we tried to find a guide.

What was out there wasn’t useful.

What we found, mostly, fell into three buckets.

Forums where everyone was 12 steps ahead of us. Acronyms like FMF, MFM, soft swap, full swap, ENM, KTP got thrown around with zero patience for explaining the basics. We’d open a thread asking a sincere beginner question and watch it get either ignored or dunked on.

Adult sites pretending to be educational. Articles that were really just SEO bait for affiliate products, written by someone who had clearly never been to a lifestyle event in their life. Generic. Watered down. Useless.

Academic or therapist-written content. Well-intentioned, sometimes excellent, but written for a textbook. Nothing about what to actually say to your partner when you’re nervous. Nothing about what to wear to a meet and greet without looking like you’re trying too hard. Nothing about what to do when you walk into a room and realize you’re not sure how this works.

So we figured it out the slow way. We made every awkward mistake. We had every difficult conversation. We over-prepared for events and then under-prepared for the emotional parts that came after. We learned the actual etiquette by accidentally violating it and watching kind people gently teach us the way.

A few years in, we noticed a pattern.

Every new couple we met at events asked us the same questions. The same nervous, sincere, beginner questions we used to ask.

How did you bring it up?

How did you know you were ready?

What do I wear?

What if my partner says yes but I can tell they don’t really mean it?

What if I get jealous?

How do you say no without making it weird?

Every time, we’d give them what we’d learned. The long version, the real version, the one we wished someone had handed us early on.

Eventually we realized this should be a website.

That’s SwingBlog.

What We Believe

Our principles.

Honest before flattering.

If the lifestyle isn’t for you, we’d rather you figure that out from a SwingBlog post than from a bad first event. We don’t sell anyone on anything.

Consent is the whole thing.

Every guide centers consent, communication, and respect. Not as a disclaimer at the top. As the actual content. Because nothing else works without it.

No shame, no spectacle.

We don’t pathologize the lifestyle, and we don’t glamorize it. It’s a choice some adults make. It works for them. It might work for you. It might not. Either answer is fine.

Practical over theoretical.

Real scripts. Real outfit advice. Real what-to-do-when. The kind of detail you only get from people who’ve been there. Not abstract frameworks from people who haven’t.

Discretion is sacred.

We write anonymously for the same reason most lifestyle couples stay anonymous. Privacy is part of what makes this work. We respect yours too.

Style is part of the story.

What you wear, how you carry yourself, the small confidence rituals before a night out. These matter more than the forums admit. We cover them like they do.

Who Writes This

No names. No faces. Real experience.

SwingBlog is written anonymously, on purpose.

We have jobs, families, neighbors, parents, in-laws. Most of the lifestyle community does. The anonymity isn’t because we’re embarrassed. It’s because keeping this part of our lives private is part of how we keep it working. If we put faces on this site, we’d never be able to write the kind of honest, specific guides we want to write.

What we can tell you:

  • We’re a couple. Married. Together over a decade.
  • We’ve been in the lifestyle for several years and have attended dozens of events. House parties, club nights, on-premise socials, off-premise meetups, lifestyle resorts.
  • We’ve made every mistake worth making, and a few that weren’t.
  • We’re based in the U.S., but we read and write for people everywhere.
  • We do not pretend to be therapists, doctors, lawyers, or relationship experts. We’re experienced enthusiasts, sharing what we know.

Everything on SwingBlog is written from our experience or the experiences of people we know in the community. We don’t make things up, and we don’t recycle other people’s content.

Who SwingBlog is for.

If any of these sound like you, you’re in the right place.

  • You’re curious about swinging or open relationships but don’t know where to start.
  • You’ve had a conversation with your partner and you’re trying to figure out if this fits.
  • You’re heading to your first lifestyle event and want to feel less out of your depth.
  • You’re already in the lifestyle but want better tools for the harder parts. Jealousy, communication, identity, style.
  • You’re just trying to understand what your friends or your partner mean when they talk about this stuff.

Who it isn’t for.

Honestly: anyone under 18, anyone hoping to use the lifestyle as a fix for a broken relationship, and anyone looking for explicit content. SwingBlog is an educational resource for adults. Not a substitute for therapy, and not a porn site.
